BIL and I made up a couple of prototype SP-01 Guide Rods last night.  They will be tested within the next week for proper fit.  After that, if all goes well, they will be available for purchase through JackAsh Custom.

I am interested in the stainless steel guide rods, but when I try to go to the Jack Ash Custom website I am told that the page is not available. Can someone help me out? Am I doing something wrong or has the website changed?

Thanks,
avordman

Suggest you look elsewhere for your guide rod.  Jack Ash is history and has been for a while.

Steve Bedair, of Steve Bedair's Websites, is working on one, but hasn't been satisfied with the results yet. Lots of folks here are quite pleased with his other work, and his customer service.

I see a lot of questions after guide rods but after all it is a very easy job for one with a lath. Make a drawing of the original, make the front part smaller (otherwise it jams) and ask someone with a lath to make on.
I made one of SS for my CZ 75 SA.

This is the pin I started with when I replaced the factory guide rod in my 40P.  Kinda wish I ordered a extra one to see if it would fit/work in the SP-01.

MSC Direct

The description reads: Metric Nitride Ejector Pins
Pin Diameter: 5.0 mm
Overall Length: 100 mm
Head Diameter: 10.0 mm
Head Height: 3.0 mm

The rough dimensions of the factory guide rod I measured was:
Pin Diameter: 4.78 mm
Overall Length: 97 mm
Head Diameter: 10.0 mm
Head Height: <no measurement taken>

Pretty close.

Does anybody know if Steve Bedair is any closer to getting one made? By the way, whatever happened to Jackash Custom? His site is no longer available.

Not the last time I looked at his website.

There are too many threads on the various boards here and at CZ Shooters.  Should take about 5 minutes to discover all the people that had issues with Jack Ash.  To bad, too.

When I emailed him recently, he said he'd had a few prototypes but still isn't happy with the results.  He's still working on it though.  If you email him with your interest, he will keep you updated on the progress.
