I can't believe some folks are having trouble with the VZ2008. I can't seem to relate my experiences to that. Oh well, maybe I'm not trying hard enough for a failure... So is the "tabbed carrier" the answer or is it something less sinister. Or more sinister? It's just crazy talk I say. So Knock on "beaver barf" and shoot the sucker until something happens, but my reality check says that the chances are it won't happen and my VZ will keep singing without issue. Hopefully.

If it aint broke... However, mine was so bad it was aggravating to even try to shoot. Tab helped, smoothing and fitting the bolt and carrier helped again. Mating the sear and disco together will hopefully have this one where it should be. I don't want a match grade trigger, the milspec one is fine for my use. I just want it tto go boom every time I pull the trigger.

All the 2008s I have are tabbed, and the "Bonesteel test" still fails.  I bought a couple mil stock surplus LH disconnectors to see if replacing the CAI DC that's been chopped off solves it. It's on the list of things to do.

The post above is opinion, and I am probably totally wrong, so please pardon me if I offend anyone in any way. I am speaking only for myself and just sharing my thoughts, not trying to start an argument with anyone, and if you disagree with anything I have said, I concede your correct.

Found this from Canadian Poster Jake Burma over on YouTube:

You have the Vz Gremlin Type 1. It happens to Vz 58's that are semi auto only. A tab must be welded to the bolt carrier of the gun to fix the issue. The funny part is, Canadians have been dealing with this issue since day one that we got CZ Vz 58 rifles. Yet we never sent our guns out for warranty. We fixed them ourselves. Vz Gremlin Type 2 is when the sear gets loose and drifts away and the trigger can't engage it. Simply can be fixed buy pressing out the pin the sear is on and shim it with the back end of a 9mm casing. All Vz 58 rifles made by CSA (Czechpoint Vz 58's are made by CSA) have both of these issues taken care of. You can tell if you have Type 2 if your trigger is loose and the pin the sear is on rotates as you squeeze the trigger.
"Easy is the path to wisdom for those not blinded by ego." - Yoda

For all of those killed by a 9mm: "Get up! You are not dead! You were shot with a useless cartridge!"
