Is there a difference between the P-01 and the Compact?

The compact is all steel while the P-01 frame is anodized aluminum.
The compact does not have a rail, P-01 does.
Compact has a safety, the P-01 has a decocker.

In addition to the differences mentioned by Firemanjones... you will have to choose decocking lever or safety, if you have a preference.
While the P-02 with Safety does exist it is very difficult to get in the USA. Therefore the P-01 option will, for all intent and purposes be a decocker only. You will have however have a choice of Safety or Decocking model with the 75 Compacts.

Let's not forget my personal favorite the CZ 75 Compact .40 which is Steel, does have a rail and with safety all in .40S&W.

I am not the only one?  I also have one like Mike's.  It is a wonderful pistol too; compact in size but the steel makes it heavy enough to be a pleasure to shoot.
