Pics of 75B with red-dot?
« on: December 13, 2014, 09:26:57 PM »
I plan to put a Burris FastFire on my 75B SA 40. I'd love to see some pics of guns with this set-up. I tried to find one Dave from CGW posted but can't find it.

Just happen to have a few dozen photos of a P-09 with Burris Fast Fire III 3 moa.  This is a Slaughter Gunsmithing two-piece mount.  Springer Precision has a one piece.  I have both.

Thanks Joe. I checked out the Springer site and that looks like the one I'm looking for.

Joe how do you find picking up the Red Dot?  Too, do you use it in competition.  I have been looking at the S&W CORE model but never thought to just replace the rear sight.  I have an 85 Combat that could wear a Red Dot.

Bob, I use it for bullseye shooting, not steel or anything fast.  I like it a bunch, have one on the Kadet as well as the P-09.  I think finding the dot is harder than with a tube type like an Ultradot, but, once you get used to pointing the gun so that you can see the dot, it seems fine to me.  An Ultradot or tube type is easier because you have the tube as a reference for line of sight.

I wasn't a big fan of red dots until I tried bullseye and then tried shooting a pistol at 100 and 200 yards.  That will make a believer out of anyone.  The Burris has been excellent so far.

I have Burris Fastfire III sights on several bullseye pistols (S&W 945, S&W Model 52, SA 1911, etc.) and will be putting one on an incoming CZ 75B from CGW. I also have an Ultradot on a Ruger MkIII and agree the tube does make it easier to find the dot. But having said that, with regard to the Burris sights, with practice the pistol comes onto the target from muscle memory and the dot is just "there". They have been very reliable for me.
