Another newbie to the CZ question
« on: December 27, 2014, 12:12:43 AM »
Hi all,
I recently took my IPSC Black Badge course and I currently shoot a Walther PPQ-Navy

I like it but I'm thinking a CZ would be a better platform for competition.

I have a line on a CZ 85 combat or a CZ Shadow SP-01.

I'm a leftie. The used Shadow is $750.00 Canadian. It has approx 1000 rounds through it.

My question
Does anyone shoot a cz 85 combat in IPSC and would the Shadow be a better choice?

It has a 13 pound main spring. Otherwise it is bone stock.

Thanks

I shoot IDPA in the Philly area. I can recommend the following based on my experience.
The Shadow sounds like a good price and will work fine for your competitions. I have shot with it and it is sweet!
I bought a new 85C and sent it to Cajun Gun works for a trigger job. My SA is now 2.lb 4oz pull and I shoot ESP (locked and loaded). I love my 85. The gun (new) and the trigger work has been about $1100 US. Unless you are shooting at a semi or pro level you will be the envy of the range with either. Good Luck I hope that helped
Life is SHORT. What will be your legacy?
