How to remove NEA upper pin
« on: January 31, 2015, 10:43:58 PM »
Help - how do I remove the pin from my NEA upper where it meets the receiver? I've been reading about people losing springs and ball bearings but nothing about how to get this thing to move so I can get to the gas piston. Thanks

You pull it out just like OEM handguards...  If you can't pull it out by hand, just use a punch...

Once removed, there is a nut that is removed w/ an allen key wrench that holds the spring and ball bearing in.

Work it out slow. I found adjusting the little lock screw is a bit of a art.  If you play with it a while you probably can find the right adjustment so the pin remains in the rail and you don't loose the ball bearing and spring.
