P07 duty aftermarket slide serrations
« on: May 24, 2015, 10:25:27 AM »
I am interested in adding front serrations of some sort to my EDC P07 duty.  Can any recommend a shop that has some experience doing this?  Looking to have the nose rounded a bit, too.
I should probably just pick up a newer model, but I am so happy with how this gun shoots I do not want to start over working on breaking in a new one!  Thanks.

I was looking into custom slide serrations in the past (different gun) and prices ranged from $75-150.  Then add the cost for rounding off the edges, plus refinishing the slide.  Total cost might be more than it's worth in the long run.

Consider getting the gen. 2 model and putting in a lighter recoil spring + stainless steel recoil spring rod from Cajun Gun Works -- that'll help a great deal from day 1.  A few hundred dryfires and the DA trigger will smooth out as well, or you could do some area-specific polishing of a few internal parts.  If you sell your P-07 Duty, your out of pocket cost will be less, and you'll have the new trigger & swappable backstraps, dehorned slide & frame, front slide serrrations, and metal sights.  Just my 2 cents.

You're probably right, but its gonna be hard to beat the current set up.  I've been trying to fight it but I'm not sure I can for too much longer.  I can pull all the CGW guts out of my current setup and move them to the new one.

Oh man, sorry, I didn't realize your P-07 Duty is Cajunized already.  That does make it a bit harder to part with your current EDC... unless, like you said, you take out all the CGW parts and put back the stock components, then Cajunize a new gen. 2 P-07.

Well, I got a lightly used newer P07 from a gentleman on GunBroker delivered for $400.00.  Couldn't pass on that one.  I'll be switching out all of the guts on my current Duty model after I get the new one.  I love tinkering, so it will be a fun project.  Plus, more CZs is always a good thing.

Nice!  Congrats!  Yeah, that's probably half the fun - just tinkering, upgrading, learning each gun inside out.  Then you get to share some knowledge with others. :)
