SP-01 Replacement Mag Springs
« on: March 28, 2015, 06:47:42 PM »
I had a jam at a match today.   It looks like a week mag spring in my SP-01 mags.    What is the right spring to replace them all with to make sure for next time?

Wolff 10% springs. Which is actually 15% in sp01 mags

I agree,  but don't be surprised if that 19th rd is a booger to get in,  even with an UpLula.
Most are good, but some are really tight to cram that last rd in. ;D

19th round isn't a problem.   I shoot Production.   At matches, I never load more than 11.   For practice, I usually load 12.   All of my drills seem to use multiples of 2, 4 or 6.

I am also looking at buying wolf springs for my SP-01. Do I want the 5% which are rated 10% or the 10% which are rated 15%?. Just a little confused at the way its worded on their website.

I ordered the +10's.   I want reliability.  If I lose a round in the magazine, I don't much care.

Smitty if you shoot steel or other local matches,  cramming in that 19th rd will matter.
The  +10 springs will work just fine for all the various venues you may end up shooting.  Steel is a good way to call your shots on transitions .  Going back to the USPSA metric targets will get easier/faster after refining sight-trigger pull with steel plates and poppers.  It's also a lot of fun.

We have a good local steel match.  I rarely shoot it.   But I'm planning to shoot it this weekend because I have a friend who's trying to get into action shooting and it's a good first match for people.    In the past, I've stuffed my mags full.   For this time, I'm going to just load the mags to 11, so that I'm 10+1, my normal USPSA start condition.  I go to matches with 12 mags, so having enough loaded and on the belt is pretty easy.

Thanks to Joe here on the forum,  I've got a 22 rd CZ mag with an aluminum base for my steel and fun-shoots,  but I'm lazy.  O0
I do start all shoots in the production class hammer down condition.
