CZ75B trigger weight and how to improve it ?
« on: May 20, 2015, 09:03:00 AM »
My stock 75B has a very smooth, clean single action pull with a crisp break, however it comes in a 7 lbs. with DA coming in at 13 lbs. Would this be considered normal for a new stock 75B ? Would a lighter hammer spring improve the trigger without getting light strikes ? Not looking for a comp. trigger just maybe get DA down to 8 or 9 lbs and SA around 5 lbs, Any input ? thanks

Yep sounds normal.
  Czech out CGW http://www.cajungunworks.com
You can get just a spring kit.
If your worried about light strikes I would recommend adding the extended firing pin.
As long as you don't go too light in weight, you probably won't get light strikes. Call them up, they are great people to talk to. [emoji6]

I have a 75B Omega and the DA trigger pull was quite heavy.  I lightened it up by purchasing the SPGK1 spring kit from Cajun Gun Works:
http://www.cajungunworks.com/ultra-lite.html

I did a little bit of polishing as well of a couple of small areas to help smooth things out some more.

Here are my trigger pull weights:
Before (all stock):  11.5 lbs DA / 4.5 lbs SA
After (SPGK1, polished):  8 lbs DA / 3 lbs SA

I don't positively know if the SPGK1 helped the SA  (I think the polishing did that), but the biggest improvement was in the DA trigger pull weight.  You can get an even lighter hammer spring, but I personally wanted to minimize these changes and just get the results needed while keeping it reliable enough without any doubts in my head.

DA pull sounds about right (my SP-01 was about 12 pounds new), but SA should be around 5. Mine got down to 11 and 4.5 after about 1,000 rounds without changing anything out, with the DA down to 8 poinds with the 13 pound spring and 6.5 pounds with the 11.5 (no change to SA).
