Magazine Confusion: Stop the madness!!
« on: February 06, 2016, 01:11:30 PM »
Please forgive me, this is my first post on the forum.
If this is not the correct place for this post, please move it to where it belongs...

I am new to the CZ line of firearms and their clones.
I am getting ready to purchase a CZ clone; either an EAA C-100 or T-100, SAR K2P or B6PC.
In most of the postings for these firearms, there is a great variance on the number of rounds that the magazines take.
Some sites list a particular model as taking 15 rounds and others, with the exact same model, say 14 or 13.
Looking for magazines at Mec-Gar is actually not much easier because they seem to offer 10, 12, 16 round magazines -- which doesn't seem to match anything! However, I did notice that there is a +1 baseplate... One customer reported that the magazine was leaving a .7" gap at the bottom of the mag...

It has become so confusing to me that I am now seeking help from those who have been around the CZ and their clones.

What gives with all the different magazine counts?
Is there some methodology to this madness that I am missing??

Are there any issues with any of these models that you can warn me about?

Well that was real helpful doc.

    OP, welcome to the forum.
The C100 & T 100 are actually Caniks. (Now imported by Tristar)
I'm not positive, but some of the round count differences may have to do with what state they're being sold in.
    I don't own a clone so sorry, I can't really help.
Since this is about clones, PM a Moderator and ask them to move to the clone section. You'll get a lot more responses there. [emoji6]

I would stick to the canik/tristars, seems like some iffy feedback on Sar lately.

What is the difference between canik/tristars and Sar?  I thought both are made in Turkey?

They are two different Turkish manufacturers.

Welcome to the Forum!  8)

I am getting ready to purchase a CZ clone; either an EAA C-100 or T-100, SAR K2P or B6PC.

All of the Models you mention, generally have very good reputations here.

In particular, I own and operate an SAR K2P and full size B6P, whose operation and quality so far have been excellent!
These will take and use most Full Size Mec-Gar Cz75 Magazines, and I typically use the 17 and 19 round AFC Magazines.

The others you mention are more compact and will run the smaller Compact 14 round magazines.
With the B6PC, you may however wish to stick with the EAA supplied Mec-Gar Magazines for it.

Canik/TriStar Quality is also very high and I have two Canik made Pistols, just not the ones you have mentioned.

I have a C 100, which came with two, 15 round mags. I also bought two, 14 rounders, and a 16 rounder. They all fit well, and work great. The 14 rounders are shortest, so I prefer them for CC. It is possible, C 100s were offered with different mags over the years. Similar to the grips, which vary a bit, from year to year.

I have had the C 100 about a month, and fired about 500 rounds. So far, not one hiccup, with any of the mags. I have not owned a CZ75, but do own a CZ82. I like the CZ82, but cannot imagine any CZ being better than the C 100. It is very well made, with excellent fit, finish and function.

I doubt you will be disappointed. If you do not like the mags it comes with, buy some you do like. They are only $25-30 each.

Thank you for your service :)
