New to CZ83 finish question

I'm looking at a 1990 surplus CZ83. With the exception of some holster wear at muzzle and a bit on grip backstrap the bluing looks good. I can't figure out what the matte finish on the slide between the sight rail and the side flats is. Can anyone help me out here? I'd like to reblue the pistol without the matte finish. I liked the looks of some forumites Metalife finish but I've not had any emails relied to from Metalife?

Mine is all blued - although there are polished parts and matte parts of the slide (like you described).
Do you perhaps have a photo?
