How to stiffen SA w/o hurting DA
« on: May 12, 2015, 07:33:18 PM »
I have my CZ 85 Combat with the lighter main/hammer spring (16-17#s?) and a CZ Custom shop competition hammer.  I've smoothed everything inside and it is a great shooter.  It has given me a light SA trigger.   Most accurate gun I have.

My problem is I shoot many different handguns and the SA is almost too light so when I switch between firearms it is so easy (nice problem to have) that it can go off before I really want it to.  Also, I don't want to give up the smooth DA.  It has been a while since I've had it apart, so I not sure what I can tweak (trigger return spring?) to give the trigger a little more resistance on the SA pull.  Thanks in advance for your comments.

Trigger return spring can/may give a little more pull and making the the sear spring a little heavier (bending the tang) might do the same.
I've had the same problem and squeezed just a skosh more pull out of SA without messing up the very  nice DA---75 Shadow.

A eaa witness 4 coil sear spring will up the SA pull a tad without changing the DA at all.

TC, where would one look for the best place to get eaa witness parts?  The eaa site didn't work too well.

I got mine from another forum member. If it was me I would start by emailing David at CGW and see if he has a EX sear spring sometimes he has some stuff that's not listed.

Otherwise I would just email eaa and make sure you get a 4 coil spring as I believe they have both, also its not a direct fit so if David has something that's were I'd turn first.
