What a screwed up morning.

I've been sick and I'm not over it.  Loaded up, went down the road.  Got to the range, signed in, headed to the car and realized I'd left my range bag at the house.  Had to go back in the office and buy some ear plugs.  Got my stuff carried down to the range and realized I'd not picked up a cardboard backer for the pistol range.  I had to walk all the way back to the office.

I was whipped, coughing like an old cigarette smoker when he wakes up in the morning (my youngest brother is one and coughs bad every morning when he waked up and starts moving around) and sopping wet with sweat, like I'd been working outside in the afternoon heat/humidity.

Got back down to the 15 yd. range and put up a couple targets.

First group was from the 9MM P07 using those sintered powder metal 100 grain bullets I bought a couple years ago.  I don't remember the powder load, but it was AA#5.  Also the best group from the P07.  I forgot to grab a box of my 115 grain reloads (why not, I forgot so much).  I did get a box of the 147 grain hollowpoints my M&P 9MM shot so well and a box of the 147 grain powder coated bullets from Missouri Bullet Company.  Neither of the 147 grain bullets could group as nicely as the 100 grain SPM bullets.  The ammo I bought at the gun show, when I bought the P07 was supposed to be the same 115 grain hollow points I'd bought for the P09.  When I got them out of the box they bullets were different.  The 115's have a very pointy look to them.  These were rounded like 124's or 147's.  I didn't shoot them.  I really want to try the 115's the P09 likes.

Got out the P09 in .40 S&W that I replaced the new style trigger in.  I had mentioned putting an old style curved trigger in it but hadn't got around to shooting it yet.  Using the same 135 grain HPs in front of 11 grains of Blue Dot that shoot so well in my P07 the groups weren't quite as good as the P07.  The 140 grain Missour Bullets loaded with Herco that shoot to the same point of aim as the 135 Noslers did not shoot so well in the P09.  Not the same point of aim or the same nice group.  Oh well, that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

I got done, got my targets, picked up my empties, put everything back in the boxes/containers and went back to the car to drop it off and go to the office and sign out.  That's when it hit me, there was some reason I'd been wanting to shoot the P09 .40 S&W, what was the reason??  Oh yeah, the new trigger was pinching my finger bad.  Well, the old style trigger seems to have fixed that.  I didn't even think about it while shooting the gun.

I'm not happy with the groups.  For now I'll blame it on my not being over this dang sinus/chest infection, coughing, fever, runny nose, headaches, etc. that I've been going through for a week or so.  The P09 .40 S&W was sort of close to what I've gotten from the .40 S&W P07 though.  It could get there with those same 135 grain Nolser HPs and Blue Dot.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Some days do indeed suck.  But not bad enough to keep you away from the range! :D  Congrats on solving your trigger issues with your P09!

Sorry to hear that your day did not go better. Glad to hear the trigger is working out, i will be following your lead shortly.

On another not tell your brother to look into vaporizers. I started using them a few months ago after smoking for 20 years. I was not dedicated to quitting and with very little effort on my part i do not smoke anymore. I feel better, i don't burn holes in everything, and i just might live a little longer, we shall see.

Hope you feel better M1A4ME.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

First couple of groups from the new P07 9MM.  The light 100 grain sintered powder metal bullets seemed to shoot pretty well.  No function issues either.  Reminds me, no function issues at all.  Every round fed/fired/ejected just fine.  The 147 grain HPS my M&P 9 liked so well don't do well in this CZ either.

The upper left group is the 147 grain Missouri Bullet Co. lead bullets with the gold paint coating on them.  Didn't shoot that well and smelled funny, too.  The guy next to me said he smelled something, but didn't know what it was till I told him/showed him the bullets.  The bottom group was the P09 with the same 140 grain Missouri Bullet Co. lead bullets and Herco powder the P07 shoots much better and it was aimed at the bottom of the black instead of the center.

Another 140 grain lead group aimed at the center of the target.

10 shots of the 135 grain Nosler hollowpoints and Blue Dot powder shot through the P09.  These have some real "bark" in the P07.  Not as noticeable in the P09.  And a good thing is no trigger bite on my trigger finger with that older style curved trigger installed.  I didn't even think about it till later and it was one of the primary reasons I'd been wanting to get back to the range, to check out the new trigger.
