First off I got to really thank CZ for a quick and thorough reply to my inquiry about a possible problem...I've posted here before that I had a couple of occurrences of the trigger on my new 97b "hanging" forward after cycling a new round into the chamber...not the ammo's fault (American Eagle) as it fired fine after clearing the gun and putting the round back in the magazine...not the magazine as it was not related to just one mag...the pistol is fairly new with only a few hundred rounds through it..

Something "mechanical" is probably at work....CZ's customer rep said he talked with several smiths and none had any thoughts right off hand so they sent me a Fed Ex mailing label and off it went this afternoon...I will keep the board posted as things move along..the CZ service notice said the repair lead time is 4-6 weeks so I'll just wait patiently...love the pistol (better than my old 97) and anything can have a flaw...we'll see...Hope what they find is fairly simple....I hate intermittent things...been there and done that with too many car issues.

CZ really moved quick on getting the gun shipped back and I do appreciate that.

Thanks Kercat. I wish you the best, but it is heartening to hear of the good CS from CZ.

I JUST bought a 97B, and it is my first CZ, so I'm watching very carefully.

In fact, I'm on the edge of ordering a new 75 because of my experience with this 97B.

Good luck and good thoughts for you.
It's never too late to become the person you could have been. . . .

Kerncat,
I know how the wait can be, but it will be nice once CZ gets everything working correctly.
I love my 97B, they are fantastic guns. As you said anything can have a flaw.

gdawg,
I would not get too concerned, I have not seen anything on here or had any experience that would indicate that this is a trend.
Every CZ I have owned have gone thru thousands of rounds without failure. This is most likely an isolated incident. That being said anything is possible.

No "trend" at all....I'd posted before concerning anyone having this issue and got 3 replies and only one "possible" thought about the problem.....noboby has had this problem according to the customer service guy at CZ when we set the return up....I think they were as surprised as anyone...I'm betting it's just a burr or something that might have even worked out by itself but I got 2 other CZ's to shoot (a .40 and a 9mm ... both 75b's ) so not like I can't have a day at the range....seems there are some other guns in that safe too...

I'm older and my hands are not as steady as once and my eyesight is not the best so unless it's a gun I'm really familiar with I don't tear anything down beyond a field strip to clean.  I got a buddy that really get's a kick out of this as I can tear down a Mosin bolt blindfolded...I'm about the only person I know that will tear down a M95 Steyr Mannlicher bolt (if you haven't done that...don't!) and can break most milsurps down in my sleep...but I grew up with that stuff and it's second nature where for newer folks it's a bit disconcerting to realize my favorite bolt tear down tool is a penny or dime..or maybe a boot lace...

I'll post the outcome of the trigger jamming when I get the gun back....we all have to wait "4-6 weeks" or whatever it takes..

Well, the 4-6 weeks turned out to be about one week or a few days more..man are they on the ball at CZ....The results were that a seldom seen (but did happen a couple of times) "nose dive" jam was due to the fact I'd bought several 97 magazines that were part of a bunch of used things...they are the really old CZ magazines that were used in the old style with the short feed ramp, wooden grip models...they tend to jam "now and then" in the newer pistols...I'll just keep them and use them for informal plinking and the new magazines that came with the pistol will be what goes in the night stand for s/d.

They also adjusted the slide stop, extractor and lead in and indicate that should resolve the trigger hang that I'd experienced twice...haven't shot it since it showed back up but their indication was many test firings and ran perfectly...Again...nothing better than a CZ....I have 2 75b's (a .40 and a 9mm) and neither of them ever misses a beat....love those Cz's.

Thanks all.
