Began carrying my 75B IWB
« on: December 19, 2015, 10:56:23 PM »
For many years now I have been carrying a 1911 3" IWB.  I am a leftie, and find that carrying it in a crossdraw fashion has been more comfortable.

I have had my 75B .40 as my nightstand gun for about 5 years, and always considered it to be "too big" to carry IWB.  I purchased a Barsony IWB holster to give it a try and discovered it's every bit as comfortable to carry IWB as my 1911.

I've gone ahead and ordered a Savoy Combo LH holster in a crossdraw configuration, that will allow me carry in either IWB or OWB.  I'm also using it with the 12-round Mec-Gar magazine  without any problems.

How many other people carry their 75B IWB?

I use a Barsony iwb to carry my 75bd in the small of the back.  Since I am right-handed, I have to order a left-handed holster for that configuration.

Is the Barsony IWB holster reinforced so that it doesn't collapse when the pistol is drawn......in order that it can be reholstered?

No it isn't.  I can reholster behind the back because if the natural body depression at the base of the spine, but to reholster at the two, three or four o'clock positions involves removing the holster, inserting the pistol and replacing the whole rig back inside the waisband.

Thanks.  From pictures I've seen of their IWB holsters I thought as much.

What kind of shirt do you wear while carrying you 75 IWB?

I usually wear guayabera type shirts or the Israeli bodyguard jacket.

Usually a Columbia short sleeve with a mesh back and roll-up sleeves with tails out - or something similar.

For a while I carried a 75B IWB in a kydex holster made by PJ Holsters. Then I decided a polymer frame CZ may be a wee bit more comfortable for long term carry. Hence, a kydex holster by PJ Holsters for a P-07! I tried a leather holster from High Noon Holsters for the P-07 but having one of the straps come undone while sliding out of a booth at a restaurant turned me off to leather holsters.

I carried one for a while.  Even though I have a good belt I found it to be too heavy(for me).

I'm a big dude (6'1"), and even I consider this gun a bit to beefy for IWB carry. It's even a bit uncomfortable for OWB without a good holster/belt combo. If you manage to do it, good on you... But what holster are you using?
I am long winded. Ask me what my favorite gun is, I'll write you a novel. Hell, I have trouble deciding what gun to grab for when the dogs bark at night :o.

I carry an SP01 AIWB at times in a "Just Holsters" kydex rig. The only issue is the length causes the muzzle end of the holster to dig into my lower abdomen when sitting. The same holster with my P01 is good even when sitting since it is a little shorter.
