Older shooter here that wears progressive lens glasses. All my other semis have white dot sights, and my new CZ has those light green dots. I'm not too concerned about the rear dots, but that front CZ dot needs some improvement. I don't want to go with a FO front sight. Should I paint the front dot bright white or just leave it alone? I did a search and didn't find much info, thanks. Oh, It's a bitch getting old.

Yeah, getting old is no picnic, but the alternative isn't too rosy either :) I painted the front sight on my Tristar P-120. I know it's not in the same league as your stainless CZ, but it has the same issues. The front sight on the CZ 75B I used to have was also hard for me to see.
The painted dot really seemed to help. I've read in this forum that model car paint works great. That would give you a lot of different colors to choose from.

Actually I prefer the front white dot on my Tristar L-120 and C-100. It's easier to pick up than that light green CZ dot.
Also, I wish the diameter of the dot was a little larger.

I think that the dot size is most of my issue. It doesn't help that the stock paint is so deep inside the sight. It looks like it's in a tunnel. I don't have a problem seeing the front sight on my P-09 or my Tristar T-120.

Hope I'm not out of line here,  but I'm 69 with bad eyes and bifocal glasses.
What color are the rear dots.
Try something easy:  Cover the rear dots with black electrical tape or equivalent and retry the sight picture.  When the front sight stands out with no other dots  around it,  it may help your problem. The rear dots are distractors from the front dot for many,  including me.
Also making the front dot bigger may make it even easier to pick up fast.

I've tried paint on sights and it never lasts long for me.  It may be the gun cleaners or holster rub.  :-\

Take a 1/16th drill bit and a sharp pick and using your hand (no drill is needed) and scrape out the paint on the rear sight until it is bare metal. Then wipe it off with acetone or alcohol and hit it with some cold blue and oil it. Change the front sight to a tritium front sight. If you want to you can open up your rear sight with a small round file, rear sight ends up looking like this.

I used some white Testor's  model paint on my 75b and P-01 and it helps me. If it wears off it's not too hard to touch it up. - Bodene

Thanks for the replies. I decided to repaint the front dot with white fingernail polish, and I'm pretty satisfied with the results. It's much easier for my old eyes to pickup that front sight now.

Today I went to the range and tested the painted white dot front sight, and I'm very satisfied with the results. Target acquisition is quicker, and it really helped my aging eyes.
