Great comparison. Helps me decide when I'm ready to pull the trigger.

A more accurate comparison would be to review 2 pistols of very recent production since that is what most people will be encountering on the gun store shelves. There have been changes and updates over the years.

Probably, but while I could write a comparison of two items I haven't seen, I highly doubt it would be valuable: P-01 has an accessory rail ;)

Unfortunately I've never had in my hands another PCR or P-01 besides these two I own - we have quite restricted weapon market in Poland :(

That's not a pcr in the photos on that blog. That is a steel frame compact with a decocker. The slide is the profile of a regular compact, but has a loaded chamber indicator. I have a surplus steel frame compact with a decocker. Mine does not have a loaded chamber indicator.

I assure you it's an alloy frame model, a few ounces lighter than the P-01.

I believe it is an early version alloy frame model but it is one that most of us have never seen in the USA. We have the Later version PCR which has much more similarities to the P-01 save for the different rear sight and no accessory rail.

That may be, but it is not like a current pcr. They have the stair step in the frame like the p 01 and are wider in frame width over the cz compact with a steel frame. Slide is also different from the current pcr. If that is a alloy frame that is another variation that I have not seen anywhere else. The loaded chamber indicator sets yours apart from other I have seen. I tried to see it in the pics, but was unable. Does that slide have the date stamp behind the ejection port?
Another variation is the Isreal surplus compact with the alloy frame( with wider frame) and a manual safety.

Yes, it has "98" date stamp.

My PCR appears to be a 2015 model.   15-lion-cip/n on slide
I've done nothing to it presently [no need]:

Decocker
Rubber grips
Lanyard
Loaded Chamber indicator
Bevel sights
Alloy frame

Steel butt mags. I ordered 2 extra mags that came with rubber bottoms -Much Nicer.

I suppose earlier compacts may have been upgraded by owners or mixed into pre-production batches and appear to be PCRs?

Or is the alloy frame the deciding factor?

I believe the 75 BD Police has variants where a true Police has both decocker and loaded indicator, yes?

Excellent right up but has added to my confusion! My PCR seams to have a combination of both these pistols. Barrel is about the same length as the P-01. My PCR is wider above the grips and has the loaded chamber indicator in the slide. Manufactured date is 2015. The trigger looks like the P-01 trigger though. Still love this pistol and is accurate. Now I am just a bit confused.

Nice detailed comparison Gilliand.

Loaded Chamber indicator

Alloy frame

Steel butt mags. I ordered 2 extra mags that came with rubber bottoms -Much Nicer.
^^^Ditto for my 2008 PCR, except for the steel butt mags. My two magazines came with the rubber base, and I use the plastic Beretta bottoms on the additional CZ-USA and Mec-Gar magazines I've ordered since then that came with metal ones.

That doesn't look like a PCR. That looks like an all steel drcocker compact to me. Much different gun. The slide release you have on the "PCR" (hereon referred to as the gun) is the same as the CZ75 full size. Allow frames have the wider frame because of the needed additional material due to the softer aluminum frames. I will buy your drcocker steel compact from you sir. It is a rare blaster.

Unfortunately, this is not full steel version - it most definitely has light alloy frame and it's lighter than my P-01.
Right now it's at gunsmith for trigger job, but I will add exact weight data as soon as I get it back.

Can anyone confirm if the barrels are indeed interchangeable between the PCR and the P01?
