F/o installation on SP01 tactical
« on: April 18, 2016, 09:30:48 PM »
Am installing Dawson precision fiber optic front sight on my tactical. The instructions are somewhat vague. There are no illustrations. I understand removing and installing of the pin but there is no explanation for placement of the screw that came with the site. I'm wondering where this screw goes and how to adjusted properly. I did watch a video of the installation on a 75b but he did nothing with the screw. Thanks.....

IIRC the screw replaces the roll pin for the Dawson sight.

Not sure about the screw, but the front sight pin holds the bushing in place, so the screw won't replace it.

The screw goes thru the top. (Under the FO) I just figured for added security. It tightens down on the roll pin. Check your sight, should already have a screw in it, screw in bag is a spare.
As bigdave24 said, you need the roll pin to keep the barrel bushing in[emoji6]

If the sight is not pre-channeled for the roll pin you will have to drill that channel too.
