Concerning the crossed swords/X on the cheap mags, I just talked to Wideners and they confirmed they will not have have the cross and they "think" they are military surplus but no indication of country of origin. They even indicated they won't work in an 83 (not sure if that is true.)

Since I am new to my CZ83, with only the mag that came with it, I have no clue beyond what they told me, so heads up.

Do they feed reliably?  At that price they could certainly have value as extra 'range magazines' if they actually work, even if they are not 100%

Have not been to the range. If they work, or can be made to work, I was thinking of sanding down/polishing the drag points on the mags so they at least can be removed without issue. My 82 is just a range toy so it's not something that keeps me up at night.
if you come up with a good way to get your mags to pop out properly please share. 3 of my 4 current mags stick when I press the release and I have the two cheap ones on the way. My CZ-82 is mostly a toy too, but would be nice to have a few mags that work properly

The problem I had with the Wideners mags is that the loaded rounds in the magazine were denting the front of the magazine enough to preclude easy extraction from the grip.  One of them broke at the back seam as well.
Wideners has also been sold.  Or their online store front has anyway.  Always liked Wideners.
I may peen the bullet nose dents down and try case hardening those spots.

Had some time to finally look at my 82. What I found was the the mag release was gummy and the aftermarket wood grips were hitting the new mags. I was going to disassemble the mag release but blowing it out with cleaner, pressurized air, and adding a drop of lube was all it needed to easily depress and get comlete action of the release. The new mags seemed to be hanging up on my aftermarket wood grips but not the factory plastic. A little sanding fixed that. While I had the grips off I used some 1500 grit paper to polish the inside of the mag well where the mags rub. Hit the front and back of the mags while I was at it. Nothing serious, just looks like they have been used for awhile. Now the mags drop free with the slide closed and open like they are suppose to.

Might get to the range tomorrow and see how they feed.

Just tried the 5 I bought and tweaked to dimensions of the real ones, two of them were functional without fails, three had nose up fail to feeds with about 4 left in the mag. I'll try tweaking them closed tighter and try again, but I'll never trust these. Buying genuine would have been wiser. For me anyway.
