What I am about to say is JUST MY OPINION and experience with BOTH of these fine pistols. I have had my SIG P225 since the Mid 90's. It is a great compact gun. I recently purchased the CZ 2075 RAMI and I have had it for about a month or 2. I have recently fired both (last night) and for some reason I shoot BETTER with the CZ 2075 RAMI. It feels BETTER in my hand. My groups on target are tighter and the overall "FEEL" of the gun is just better. The RAMI has a 3" Barrel compared to the SIGS 4" so I thought the 225 would be better. Not the case for me. Now here's the part that many SIG owners MIGHT NOT agree. The overall QUALITY of the RAMI is better. Again, this is my opinion. Having both pistols side by side and shooting will eventually show the differences of the pros and cons of each. Taking apart both you can see the differences too. IMO, the CZ is just better built. Again, my opinion.
After last night, my overall opinion of the RAMI is better than my P225. It's smaller so it is easily more concealable. It holds 10 +1 or 14 +1. The 225 is 8 + 1. I am still trying to figure out WHY the P225 is better and I can't. So to me the 2075 RAMI is just an "overall" better gun. I have yet to experience any malfunctions or failure to feed or light primer strike on the CZ. It eats everything I put in it and spits it out. My first time shooting the CZ 2075 I will shoot the cheapest ammo to test it's quality of firing. Tula is a good cheap ammo choice to test. The CZ performed flawlessly. Last night I used Winchester 115 Grain Brass ammo for both. About a year ago (not last night) I shot 9MM Fiochi ammo with the P225 and I had a light primer strike 3 times out of a box of 50. I just pulled the trigger again and 2 fired, however, 1 did not. The only issue with the CZ RAMI is that I can't get the 10th round in the 10 round Magazine. My guess in time I will as I break it in or I am a WIMP...either one will eventually solve that minor issue.
I have been seeing the New SIG P225A or A1 going on sale for about $1,100. This is the 1st time since the 90's, I am tempted to sell my older version P225 and buy the CZ Compact or Full size and pocket the change as the CZ's are almost 1/2 the cost. I am pretty sure I can get at least $800-$1,000 for the P225.
Whether I sell the gun or not I just wanted everyone to know here; anyone that has a CZ (Full, Compact or Sub-Compact) have a great gun. If I had a choice between a CZ or SIG, my choice would be easy.....the CZ any model 9MM. No, I am not smoking crack either...that's just my preference.
Again, this is just my opinion and I am sure I am in the minority in this, but it's CZ all the way for me!!
FYI everyone and have an awesome day!!
