I've got a few ounces of Bacardi in me, so pardon me if this reads like PUI (posting under the influence), but I was just thinking...

We know Jeff Cooper heaped scorn on most semi-auto designs other than the 1911 (or anything else designed by John Browning), labeling them 'krunchentickers' and snorting with derision whenever someone showed up at Gunsite with one. Yet he seemed to have warmed up to the CZ-75 design. Or at least he didn't trash it.

When he was working on the Bren Ten he, along with the design team, picked a modified CZ-75 design to base it on. It's amazing that he didn't insist on a variation of the 1911.

Soooo... can we say that the CZ-75 platform is the only other pistol design besides the 1911 endorsed by Jeff Cooper?

Frankly my dear, I don't give a bleep

Who can argue the Linkless and Slide IN Frame Design, of the CZ, makes for a sturdy Platform
And god knows, the 10mm Round needs sturdy
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what's coming after HIM !

Wasn't his premise that:

You choose a 9mm for the gun (wonder nines, capacity, DA/SA trigger, tricky neat stuff),
You choose a .45ACP for the cartridge (capability, stopping power, high five to the 1911)?

I don't recall much more than scoff from him on anything non-.45ACP, non-J.M. Browning, non-1911; back when I read Gun magazines in the 1980's.
"Ten-round magazines are available, for those who live where the populace keeps electing idiots for legislators."

I read the book and yes, he did say the CZ75 was the 9mm "crunchenticker" he would have picked, IF the US military HAD to go to a DA/SA 9mm pistol. Partly his reasoning was the standard safety on the CZ-75 allows it to be carried cocked and locked, Col Coopers favorite carry mode.
He was wedded to the 1911 for his entire life, and he earned the right to be so. :) He also lamented that the only good 9mm DA/SA pistol just happened to be made in a communist country. Oops.

Good morning gentlemen,
I remember having read - back then- in "American handgunner" , the comment of Jeff Cooper about the Cz-75 :
"Good king Wenceslas must have stood behind the designer of the pistol "

Cooper on the Browning Hi Power...
