True Fan Boy of CZ..But Now Not Too Sure😢😢😢
« on: March 12, 2016, 10:13:31 AM »
I am fan of CZ 75 SP01 Tactical. ALL CAJUNIZED.  I was at the NRA range with my buddy  month ago. Shot his Sig P226 treaded barrel with the Can. Off course his pistol was also customized by GrayGuns. I was surprised by the comfort and accuracy of P226. To make the long story short, I bought Sig Legion SAO. It has all the whistles and bells. It leave only few rooms for any upgrade. SRT is amazing. It's better than the SRT I put on my CZ 75 SP01. Lol feeling guilt😆😆. Having affair with Sig P226 Legion.. I am I the only one feeling this or is there other?

When it comes to gun brands, I am not monogamous & that's the way I like it ;D

I enjoy my Sigs, smiths, springfields and rugers as well. Depends on my mood & type of match I'm shooting.

Actually, not unusual at all.  I started out with SIGs, but was disappointed in the SIG 22 conversion for the P-226 so I asked on SIGforum about alternatives.  One of the suggestions was a CZ-75B with Kadet conversion, so i bought a 9mm 75B standard version and a Kadet conversion.  But I kept the SIGs.  I have taken a 3 day course from Bruce Gray and Jerry Jones, and still shoot a SIG SSE 9mm P-226, use a standard P-226 as a house gun, have a Gray modified X-5, and built a bullseye gun starting with a P-226 and a Bar-Sto barrel that I fitted myself, and added a red dot.  Very accurate gun, but I sold it to a friend of mine last year.

I liked the Kadet and the 75B frame and loaded it up with CGW parts and it is my bullseye rimfire gun now and is as good as anything I've shot but more reliable than any.  Then I decided to try a polymer gun so I tried the P-09 and really, really liked it, shot it in bullseye centerfire one year, bought a second one for open sight game gun matches.  Then I got a CZ-97 and shot it all last year in matches.

But I get the SIG's out every so often, use them in training classes, and still push them for people whose hands fits them well and who can handle the DA/SA operation, which I always liked since I started with them.  Lots of SIG owners have CZ's and vice versa.

The strong point for the CZs is the support from shops like CGW and CZ Custom and Automated Accuracy, etc.  We can buy parts and drop them in and build anything we want starting with a basic CZ service pistol.  And the 22 conversion is excellent.  This is why I've stuck with the CZs--the support we get from some really good shops.  Gray Guns is always loaded up but is good with the SIGs.  There are a few other shops as well, but the support for the SIGs is nothing like what we have for the CZs.

Plus, this is my favorite firearm forum and I have made a lot of good friends here on this forum.   Great support by our suppliers, well moderated, lots of interest and friendly folks, what's not to like?

And no one minds if you like a great SIG pistol from a really good shop anyway!

Couldn't say it any better than JoeL. CZs are excellent guns and are the main focus of this forum, but like many others, I have fun with several other makes of firearms. I carry an M&P Shield most of the time, and when I don't have the Shield as my sidearm, it's my P-01. I have a Kimber II 1911, and when I want to shoot .45, it's my go to pistol. Great shooter! I always liked the P226 and always thought I'd own one some day, but years ago, I picked up a 75B, and forgot about the 226. I still have the 75B, but a 226 could be in my future. Early this year, I bought a Glock 17 Gen 4, which is probably more surprising to me, as I had no desire to own a Glock. Then, at a business conference in Las Vegas last September, a bunch of us went to a range, and I was handed a G17 Gen 3 and I proceeded to put a small hole with multiple rounds in the center of the target. Ok, Glocks are pretty sweet!

This is a great place to come to discuss all things related to shooting, and as mentioned, is one of the more informative places to acquire knowledge about shooting with posters sharing lots of info. Let us know how you make out with the new Sig.

Don't own one but if for any reason I wanted close to the feel of my CZs SIG and maybe even specifically the 226 would be at the top of the list.

When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

I shoot 1911's a lot so even though I have several CZ's in 9mm for carry, I decided I'd like a full size 9mm that could be considered a 'combat' gun.  Whatever that is.  To me it means something reliable, heavy, accurate and able to be abused with no ill effects.  So I also grabbed a Legion 226 SAO.  It is a really freaking good shooter.  I can only compare it to my Protek 1 so it is not really apples to apples, but it is sweet.  And I do enjoy my SA triggers.  After about 1000 more rounds through each I'll decide what I really prefer.

I am a CZ 75 fan-boy, and like others,  I like my little 9mm P-239 Sig a lot for what it is --- a single stack all metal pistol for carry/HD, that shoots very well out to 20-25 yards.
Mine is the DA/SA with only a little lighter hammer spring, SRT,  8 and 10 rd ss mags and some mild polishing.
Since the 90's it's never given a reason to doubt it.  Works great on bug stages. :)

My P229 Legion is so reliable and accurate it's almost boring. The Gray Guns trigger and short reset are unbelievably smooth for a production gun. It's one of the few guns I own that I haven't modified in any way, whatsoever.

Nothing wrong with that... To tell you the truth, I looked at the 226 & loved the look of it, but didn't like the feel or I would have it now. Even the Beretta 92 felt better. The CZ 75 felt better than both in my hand, hence it is on order as we type.

My CCW is an extremely reliable Sig P238 Equinox which at the time had the best sights on a pocket pistol available, IMHO. I also have a Springfield EMP that I love, so a little pistola cheating is good for the soul... O0

I feel like we should start a thread on handgun 'affairs'. I love my CZs, but there's a world of guns out there, and most are excellent.

My latest fling was with a Walther P99AS. The grip ergonomics aren't quite as nice as CZ, and the aftermarket support is almost nil, but what a trigger! And what a reset! If CZ ever went came back with another poly/striker gun, that's the one I want them to make.

Since my new customized DW Guardian .45 is on my hip a lot more than my PCR lately, would that be an affair?  an emotional affair?  Keeping it in the family??   ;D   My mind wanders to other 1911's but so far have resisted the temptation.   O0

I shoot a Sig P320 compact and my much loved PO-1.
The PO-1 holds my Kadet, I enjoy shooting them both.
