Kadet with Jpoint
« on: April 30, 2006, 08:22:46 PM »

Shooting a big Rimfire match May 27th. Five stages rifle and five stages pistol. I got a sweet rifle already so I needed to build up a pistol.

Went with the Kadet because I think it has some pretty decent mags (the weakness of most 22 pistols), and Kory (CZ Forum member) did a awesome trigger job on my cz75sa.

Running a Jpoint off the dovetail mount for right now. After the rimfire match I'll have it buried into the slide. I also need to get some sort of slide racker drilled and tapped for it.

What's with the safety?  That isn't stock -- we usually see that safety only on ambi-models.\

Others here were asking how to do that...

That's the safety that came on the gun when I bought it NIB.

I have been a Red Dot Sight lover for a long time. I have it on my Beretta Neos.

I wanted to put a Red Dot on my CZ P01 but have never known anyone who has used it on any gun. Could you please poat some closeup picture so that I can see the dove tail mount? And tell me if it's worth the $275 investment?

            Thanks...Bob

Those are the best pic I could do. Not much of a photographer. As far as being worth it, that is subjective. The mount is pretty stable. It fits into the dovetail and their is a set screw you can tighten down. I even drilled a dimple into the slide to let the set screw sit in. I feel confident the mount will not wander. I don't have a problem finding the dot when I index the gun. I would like to have the sight melted into the slide so it sits lower (slide milled and sight mounted directly to slide without the dovetail mount). I will be doing that later.

Yar
Thanks...the pictures do a lot to explain the setup.
            1. Did you have to use a sight pusher to put in the JPoint adapter?
            2. Does the gun still fit into your holdster?
            3. Is it worth the money?
            4. What did you pay and where did you order it from?
            5. How long did it take to get the adapter? Most place say special order.
            6. Think I have a walk problem on a P01 9mm

            Thanks...Bob

Walt,

That is the standard safety on the 75b-SA, wish my SP-01 had those...  Mine from several years ago also had those.  As for ambi only, well they are ambi safeties...

1. Did you have to use a sight pusher to put in the JPoint adapter?
No it was installed with a nylon punch. Just tapped it in with a hammer

            2. Does the gun still fit into your holdster?
In mine yes, in yours i don't know.

            3. Is it worth the money?
For my applications I wouls say yes.

            4. What did you pay and where did you order it from?
I gpt it direct from jprifles.com

            5. How long did it take to get the adapter? Most place say special order.
They have it in stock but it's not listed on their site. Tell them you want the cz fixed dovetail adapter part number jpa-czf

            6. Think I have a walk problem on a P01 9mm
My buddy has a jpoint on his browning highpower. His dovetail adapter walked on him and he used the drilling a recess method to fix it. Depending on how tight the adapter fits in your adapter you may or may not have the same problem. I say drill the recess hole just in case.
