CZ 750 S1M1 (and 550) non set-trigger: 3 lb min. weight?
« on: August 17, 2016, 02:47:01 PM »
I followed instructions on the CZ-USA website for adjusting my 750 trigger. Pre and over travel are now all but eliminated and the pull weight has been reduced from the 4 lb factory weight to a crisp 3 lbs, but it seems that further adjustment of the screw affecting weight does nothing. 3 lbs is the minimum weight? Am I missing something obvious?

The 3 lb trigger feels good but I guess I expected a bit more adjustment range from a precision rifle.

Any insight appreciated!

The trigger when set will be much lighter, generally you won't be able to adjust the unset mode to less than 3 pounds. My CZ550 Varmint breaks at 3.3 pounds unset and 15 ounces when set.

According to the manual the adjustment range is 8-22 N, or about 1.8 to 4.95 lbs.

If the rifle is equipped with a set trigger this article from CZ might be helpful... http://cz-usa.blogspot.com/2011/11/cz-single-set-trigger-system.html
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

Thanks, guys. The late model 750s do not have the set trigger of the early ones. I guess I'm stuck at 3 lb unless I send it to a smith. :/

On the bright side, I fired three factory match loads for repeatability testing yesterday afternoon. 4 and 5-round strings were right at .6 in. (not dismissing flyers). I'm pleased with that considering my fundamentals need polish and the bench was uncomfortable :)
