Upgrade help
« on: June 09, 2016, 01:49:36 AM »
I've been browsing CGW in order to decide which upgrade I want to install on my Phantom next. Annnnnnnd, I'm just not sure which one I need...

90% of my shooting is target practice. The other 10% is USPSA. I should mention that I've already installed the Reach Reduction Kit and tuned my recoil spring to a comfortable weight.

My goals are: 1. Improve trigger feel (reduce takeup, shorten reset, improve crispness etc.), 2. Improve DA trigger (stock DA is so heavy now that I can't get first shots off accurately).

Of the following upgrades, which would you recommend given the goals I listed?
1. Short Reset System - https://cajungunworks.com/product/srs-1-short-reset-system/
2. Ultra Lite Self Defense Firing Pin Kit - https://cajungunworks.com/product/54420-ultra-lite/
3. 3 Piece Spring Kit - https://cajungunworks.com/product/spgk1-3-piece-spring-kit-2/
4. Race Hammer kit - https://cajungunworks.com/product/race-hammer-kit/

That 3 Piece Spring Kit is awful speaking at $17 - Will the self defense kit yells way better results thought?

Thank you for your thoughts on this.

To remove take up you want the SRS. But, let David know you already have the RRK. You'll want the Modified Type 2 Disco. It works with both the RRK and SRS, and gets rid of most of the SA take up (slack) in the trigger.

I got one of David's first (pre-CGW came into being) reach reduction modifications and the trigger is awesome on my 75B.
SP01 is correct about the reset screw not being legal.  I just removed mine 'because I knew'.  Locally no one would know.
Even without the reset screw it's a really nice trigger ,  arguably as good as my Custom 75 Shadow with all the action goodies.
