Rami night sights
« on: July 23, 2016, 07:55:26 AM »
I posted awhile ago that I'd bought a Rami that had a dead night sight. I won't go into all of the details again but will say that I'm less than happy with CZ-USA CS. They did finally send me new sights after much back and forth and several dropped balls on their part. They even made me return the bad front sight as well as the good rear sight before they would replace them. I've never in 15 years run into this kind of crap from a manufacturer before.

Well I finally received them and before you say anything I've installed many many sights over the years but if these are the sights they install at the factory they must uses a 300 ton press to do it or a very very big hammer (that would explain the dead sight I guess). Well got them installed last night after extensive fitting and sighted in so all is good but in the future I'll be avoiding CZ customer service if at all possible.

You can hold your breath a long time.  Glad you got it fixed. Hopefully, you can forget the bad experience and enjoy your Rami.

My Rami front night sight died as well -- I've had the same thing happen with several Meprolite tritium sights, which seem prone to failure and are made of very soft base metal. I wish Trijicom made sights for the Rami. The good news is that the Rami front sight is a Novak cut dovetail, so you can use any of those.

I also found the Rami front sight extremely difficult to remove and install, however it helps a lot to use a heat gun to heat up / expand the slide prior to removal or installation, and to file the bottom of the front sight base judiciously to get it to fit.
