Questions on removal / assembly of Rami BD firing pin
« on: June 18, 2016, 06:39:58 AM »
I want to clean the gunk out of the firing pin and firing pin channel, and was wondering if there are any tricks to it.

From the schematic, it appears to be just the single roll pin through the slide that's holding the firing pin / spring in place (although I have heard that some have inner and outer roll pins, one fitting inside the other):

Which way do I drive the pin out when facing the rear of the slide? Right to left or left to right or does it matter?

Any other tips or things to look out for?

Thanks!

The pin comes out either way, I cleaned mine a couple of weeks ago and it really was full of gunk from the factory so I'd highly recommend that it be cleaned.
I do wish they had done something like the 1911 to hold the pin in, I hate banging out pins to do something like this.

Either way works. If a new pistol it should be a double roll pin like the other CZ's. Mine came out in one piece.
Here's a great step by step.

IMO, there is an important step missing from these institutions...
You must align the FP and fully insert the FP so that the roll pin does not bind on the FP when being driven back into place.

Good point BDG. Guess I never noticed that it doesn't mention that[emoji848]
Somewhere I had read about that, wether pushing it in or putting the slide back on the pistol and lowering the hammer against the FP. Both ways work and I had thought I read it on that link.
