I was at a 1911 match recently and a local (Central AL) bullet maker was there selling traditional lead/wax lubed bullets.  I had used some of his before but had since switched to a 45 ACP 200 gr LRN coated bullet I was getting from S&S.  He replied that was fine too as he sold his unlubed bullets by the ton (literally) to S&S & Bayou, who then coated them.  Good bullets in my experience

I've been pretty happy with coated bullets. I buy them 10k at a time every 6 months or so, but now that my wife started shooting last month, I think we're going to have to start buying in bulk.

LOL, 10K to me is buying in bulk. I buy 3600 bullets at a time from Blue Bullets. My post lady hates it and makes me pick up the shipment from the post office saying it is to heavy for her to deliver. It is pretty heavy so I do it. If it was a male post man, I would probably make him deliver it. ;)
