HBI Springs = Burst Mode?
« on: July 05, 2016, 09:45:12 PM »
So, this happened today. I went to the range after installing my HBI springs and trigger shoe. Other than that and a new safety, it's straight out of the box. In fact, I barely put lube in it. The sear had no lube. The first 30 round mag went fine. The second was okay for the first couple rounds. Then, after my next pull, it does a 3 round burst. Thinking it was a fluke, I pull the trigger again and dump another 3 round burst. I pull it apart and check the seat and see its dry and put it back together. Pull the trigger a third time and 3 round burst yet again. This is an indoor range with an RO. I got red lined after that. Any one else have these issues?

No issues here. Sure you got the disconnector/spring together properly?

100% correct. Would not function otherwise. It's all a linked system, but yes, I double checked.

Oh it's fun until you get red lined and your session ends early.

You sure about that? The disconnector prevents F/A fire while keeping the trigger depressed. And it moves independently of the sear. The audible click you hear if you hold the trigger down after firing a round is the hammer transitioning from the disconnector to the sear.

Check your spring orientation and make sure the disco is being held to the forward most position.

Stop. If you are in the United States get that gun to a gunsmith right now for repair work. As it stands you are in violation of Federal law, NFA '34 and GCA '68. Get that firearm repaired now.
