I am a tinkerer by nature and fell in love with the CZ brand. My first purchase was a CZ 75 SP01 with safety this last year. I am not a gun smith but thanks to the internet, abyss1232 specifically who showed me what to polish and how, and Cajun Gun Works (CGW) parts, the result was a 7.0# double action and a 2.5# single action pull that is smooth as butter. Now I have s S&W Shield for conceal carry but also wanted something that had a double stack capability (this was my excuse). So I decided to get a P01 since the reviews were outstanding, the weight of the gun was very reasonable, and accuracy was top notch. I struggled between getting the traditional trigger versus the omega trigger and after talking to David at CGW decided to try the omega. The problem was getting an omega. In the mean time, I noticed that CZ was offering an Urban Grey, silencer version that included raised night sights and extended 16 round magazines for roughly $20-30 more and were available from Deguns.net. After reading some of the reviews from this forum, I was sold and ordered one. I also ordered parts from CGW that David recommended which included the following:
92030 Short Reset Kit $75.00
91000 Hammer $88.00
RP-TRS Reduced Power Trigger Return Spring $7.00
SPGK1-3 Piece Spring kit $17.00
I also ordered HS-12000 which is the 11.5# hammer spring for $7.00 which I had installed into the SP01 which further reduces the DA pull. However, not all primers might not be ignited, but I haven't found any so far based on my SP01 experience. The spring kit above includes a blue hammer spring which is rated at 13#. Installing these parts, using the smoothing experience from the SP01 on the hammer bar, slide, and firing pin block from abyss1232, and David's recommendations on the trigger bar from the - Duty Series - P-07, P-09 (Moderator: Otto N Sure) ? How To Tune - Smooth & Upgrade P-07/09 section of this forum, I was able to get the P01 down to a 7.5# DA from half cock position, and a 2.75# SA pull. The full DA was slightly above 8# which was above the scale of my trigger pull gage. These numbers were with the safety configuration not the de-cocker. I was pleasantly surprised. I took the gun to the range to check the zero at 25 yards and found the rear site to be biased to the left. After some adjustment, moving the sight to the right, I was able to attain a zero I was satisfied with. Another concern was a holster. After measuring the silencer ready P01 with the Sp01 they are basically the same length and the raised sights of the P01 do not seem to be a problem, I am sure this might not be the case in all instances. In summary, initially I wasn't sure about choosing the Urban Grey Omega version of the P01 but after getting it, I really like the grey-black color contrast, the high sights which help me attain a sight picture along with the "glowing" night sight picture, and the added magazine capacity. I am completely satisfied and glad I made the choice. I hope that this brief summary helps and acts as an aid to those contemplating an urban grey purchase. I also included some pictures of my SP01, P01, and final zero results at 25 yards.
