New Kadet

I just shot about 500 rounds of Remington jacketed hollow point through my new Kadet. I really like it. I have a Ruger MkII target. The CZ is almost as good. The Ruger has about a 2lb trigger, and a 5 1/2" barrel. The CZ feels very good with the Kadet. Very nice sights. My CZ trigger needs a few hundred/thousand more rounds. I shot a mag through the Ruger, then a mag from the CZ. Alternating the two guns at the same targets at 15 and 25 yds. The Ruger shot tighter groups and was more consistent. The Kadet was very good. It shoots much better than the Ruger Single Six 5 1/2" with adjustable sights. The Target gun is a dream. The CZ is close.

Congrats on the new kadet!

The more I work with my kadet, the more I enjoy it. And the cost savings is incredible. One thing I notice is that I get use to the light recoil of the 22 and when I shoot the 9, especially in practice rather than a match, I am surprise at the heavier recoil.

My trigger also needs some improving. When I get the tools and 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper, I'm going to follow dleong's instructions to Glockguy in the gunsmithing forum on how to smooth out the trigger.

Update on range. Went to the rifle side of our club to work on a new 30-06. Had some trouble with the rifle, and had targets set at 50 and 100 yds. Decided to fire some .22 from the CZ. Shooting at the Leupold 12" square rifle target, I hit the paper with 22 of 30 rounds at 50 yards firing one handed, no rest. I hit the 100 yd target 2 times out of 20 two handed, no rest. The 50 yd target was centered on some white butcher paper, about 4' square. All the rounds which missed were right around the target, mostly low right. The 100 yd target was just on a wood back board, so no way to judge where the rounds were hitting. I like this gun.
