Got my CZ 97 BD back from Service Dept

Got my Brand new CZ 97 BD in which I bought a month ago and was having issues with the mags seating properly.
CZ in the report I got back with my new pistol said they adjusted the Sear cage function tested which it was good.
My Beeotch on the matter is I noticed some dings in the finish close to the trigger guard on the dust cover area.
I got ahold of CZ Friday after I got this pistol back and was told they could replace the pistol if I wanted but
that they didn't have any in stock at the present moment and was not sure when they might get some in.
So I having done some minor gun smithing  got a hold of a bottle of  Rust-oleum Fast Fix Universal flat black
2 in 1 paint and primer and it worked out pretty good so far. It fills, Seals and repairs automotive chips & scratches.
Gal at the parts house jaw about dropped when I told Her I wanted this to cover up some minor dings to a pistol- lol
Still haven't shot this puppy as of yet !!!

Sorry to hear about the out-of-the-box issues with your 97BD. Glad to hear that CZ helped out and even offered a replacement.

Looking forward to hearing that with the exception of some finish flaws your 97BD is a nice shooter.

I posted the following today regarding the magazine not seating properly on my 97 BD:

I have a brand spanking new CZ 97 BD 45 ACP and I really like it. I have an issue that's probably not a lasting one but wanted to check with others for an opinion. The issue is with loading a full magazine clip into the weapon. All of my magazines are 10 rounders. After I load a magazine with 10 rounds and insert the magazine into the magazine well the magazine does not fully seat. You don't hear the click associated with the magazine being locked. In fact, the magazine falls from the well. In order to get the magazine to seat with the click I either have to remove one bullet or pull the slide back and engage the slide release, insert the magazine, then release the slide release and chamber a round. The pistol will not otherwise let me insert a fully loaded magazine without chambering a round unless I remove one bullet. I have 5 CZ magazines and 5 Mec-Gar Magazines. All magazines have the same issue. I'm guessing that the magazines, due to their being new, the springs are tight and may take a while to loosen up and then they will seat properly.

Was the problem with your CZ the same issue?

So sorry in getting back with you. No mine was when inserting a full mag, mag would hit a snag before going all the way into the grip all is fine now. Still haven't had a chance to shoot this puppy as of yet. Gonna just live with the minor dings on or near the dust cover area of this pistol. Gonna use those marks as my person identifying marks for my 97bd pistol- Again so sorry I didn't get back to ya sooner had a lot of Family stuff going on- Dave

When I first got my CZ 97 BD I believed the CZ website to be in error stating 10 + 1 capacity because I couldn't get a full magazine to seat with a round in the chamber.

I later discovered that the magazine seating force was substantially greater than that of my RAMI BD but if I "bopped" it firmly into place it stayed and functioned perfectly.  Maybe the magazine spring is that much stiffer?  Anyway, all is well, it just takes a "bop" rather than a thumb click to seat the big guy.

So how much force is "Bop" compared to a "thumb click"? LOL

Yes the seating force is significantly greater with a full mag.  I started shooting SWC bullets to alleviate the insertion force as the bullet profile makes it a little easier.  Plus they are just plain lazers in the 97BD!  You may be able to modify the mag follower to reduce the insertion force when fully loaded.
