New Kadet!
« on: March 03, 2002, 10:11:17 PM »
Hey everyone, its been awhile since Ive posted, busy and all, but Ive tried to read the site once in awhile. Anyway, I just bought a kadet kit, $239 from J&G sales, it DID come with both mags. I know some sell it cheaper, but they take out one mag. I have the kit installed which was easy and I got a wonderfully tight fight. Only one problem, the front rails on the new slide, the part attached to the barrel, not the adaptor slide, needed major metal removal to fit my frame. These rails were very large and had a lot of the polymer coating on it which I had to take off. I used my dremel initially but then moved to a hand file to get it perfect, which I did then polished these areas smooth. What should I do about the silver now showing. Its not bad at all but Im the guy who had my compact hard chromed over the nickel just so it was BETTER protected. My wife says Im anal.

Why not have a slicked up kadet kit?

Cobra-Chromed by virgil? i've been considering egtting my CZ40B slide or whole gun
            done by him.

I've not seen a nickel plated KadetSlide..i think that you are onto something here.
For $60 hewill do a slide. contact him and see if he will do a better deal on something
experimental.I'm thinking the teflon will make the polymer parts very slick and also
            increase corrosion protection.
