97B with Scorpion Grips
« on: August 29, 2016, 06:22:34 PM »

* Grips are found on auction site from maker in Thailand.
* Extended mag release from CGW which I polished.
* Vulcan Bat tape to cover, what I find to be, somewhat sharp front and rear grip serrations.

It's always cool to see other 97's !

How are the grips, texture wise?  (smooth or some grip?)

The gray scorpion is inlet-ed just a tad so this gives the grip a bit of negative texture (meaning the texture is not protruding like that of the grips on a Ruger SR1911, for example...if that makes sense).  The black portions are smooth, but not slick.   I like the feel of them and would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a replacement set.

Yup that makes perfect sense.

The grip tape sounds interesting as well.  I usually get my 1911's with 20 lpi checkering front and back,  the 97 seems pretty good for me too.
