Do You EDC A CZ?
« Reply #90 on: August 31, 2016, 10:49:51 AM »
I carried my CZ 85 the other day, just around the yard while walking the dogs.  Nope, not for me.  I can't hide it in an IWB holster.  I gave one of the two I bought to my youngest son for his CZ 75 SA, to see it he could get away with it.

It just sticks out too much.  I can look down and see it, my right arm is constantly bumping it.  I'll stick with the P07.

A lot depends on the holster.  I find, when carrying a full size pistol, that a holster with a lot of cant positions the grip frame of the pistol more vertically, aligning it with the axis of the body and reducing the tendency for it to stick out to the rear.  Makes all of the difference in the world.

Straight drop holsters have their roots in the "gun games" such as IPSC, and which don't translate into real world use very well.

I'm carrying my UG P-07 with a Surefire X300 appendix and I have my holster set with a slight reverse cant. The draw feels very natural  that way and between the cant and the holster's claw, the grip does not print, despite the extended mag.

It all comes down to details... :)

My PCR replaced my XD as my EDC. The only time the PCR is not with me is if I am carrying my Tomcat due to dress requirements. I love my PCR and I trust my life on it. More importantly, I trust it with my family's life on it.

I have a long list of "previously carried" handguns but currently only carry my CZ P07s.  I carry OWB in High Noon holsters - a Snapper (especially when I know I'm going places where I'll have to remove it and then put it back on several times) and a Sky High with retention strap for those times where I feel it's best to have the extra security of a retention strap.  Both holsters fit nice and tight to my body.  I am partial to my Snapper and I really wish they made a Snapper with a retention strap.  Guess I'm just too lazy to remove my belt and thread the holster on and off......pathetic :D

Yes, these are both left handed holsters....

Yup.

SAR B6P in a custom holster.  No worries on what I can do with it if needed.

And if it would fit in the same holster, I could also carry my wife's FAB9 when a swap is wanted for changing...but the big difference would just be safety postitioning....and I like to stay with what I know/train with.

And as far as concealing it, I have done nothing more than a loose t-shirt over it....no seeing it,  until I showed it to a customer in a LGS to prove that one can hide full size pistols easily.  Even the salesman was impressed with it being hidden that easily, I just replied with comments about the quality of a holster makes all the difference.

I have been carrying my CZ-75D PCR since I bought it in 2000.  Sometimes if I need something smaller it is either a Bulgie Mak or Polish P-83.  Once in a while I will carry my HK P7 PSP, but the PCR rules.
