CZ P-07 mag 10 round mod to 15 round?
« on: September 05, 2016, 05:07:04 PM »
Just got a CZ P-07...really impressed with it and put my .45 Sig P220 Elite up for sale on another forum.
Anyway...I thought I was getting a couple 15-round mags but got two 10-round mags...fuhriggg.

Just examining the mags it looks like they would have been 15-rounders but a cutsie little dimple was tapped into the sides of the mags preventing the follower from recessing enough to accept the remaining five rounds.

Has anyone tried to remove these dimples by any method to gain the original 15-round capacity? I have a pic but website doesn't let me insert it.

Thanks for looking

Without looking at yours.....
Others I've seen contain a spot weld in the dimple, so when you drill out the dimple the bottom falls off.
Still good range mags.

Welcome aboard.
Just out of curiosity, what state are you in?
Your best bet is to buy a couple new mags and sell the 10 rounders to recoup your cost.

Thanks, we be in CO.

You're probably right on the recoup exchange...people actually buy the 10 rounder's?

I was just hoping someone had filed the mag from the inside to remove the dimple or slip a mag-sized mandrel into the mag (staying between the stiffening ridges) and apply pressure with a vise to press the dimples out. Problem would be anytime metal is dented it stretches it and dunno if it would distort the mag enough to cause problems or not.

If the law permits you to own standard capacity mags then you could file the dimple down from inside and remove the restriction.  I'm not familiar with the details of Colorado statutes

A couple years ago a handful of liberals got into our congress and did all kinds of dumb bleep to law-abiding citizens. One of them was to restrict most firearms to 15 rounds, so I'd still be legal...I think.
