I'm thinking of thinning the herd
« on: October 14, 2016, 09:55:08 AM »
First, and foremost, I am not offering any of these CZ's for sale at this time. If and when I do they'll be listed in the classified section. That being said, I'm thinking of selling off my early CZ's.

These include a CZ 24, CZ 45; CZ Duo, CZ 50; and three CZ 52's-one in  9mm, one hard chromed with a comp barrel and custom grips, one stock.

Years ago I began collecting CZ's with the goal of having a CZ in every caliber that they ever produced. I accomplished this and now I think it may be  time to move on.

So what do y'all think. Have any of you successfully sold your early CZ's here on the forum or have you had to go to one of the other online gun sales sites?

Thanks for any insight.

Otto

I haven't sold any of my CZs but have picked up most of them off Gunbroker, so CZs  (even early ones) do sell.  Oh wait, I did buy one of my commie CZs from a member here.

My vz52 came from GunBroker (first C&R purchase) and my vz50 came from Cabela's of all places (the first time I was ever able to get a midwestern Cabela's to do a C&R FFL transfer). The vz52 was bought a few months before I joined up here. I've bought one CZ pistol from a classified here.

You will certainly find CZ enthusiasts here if you decide to go the classified route. If you list them here, that will avoid the selling fees for GB and you'll keep them in the CZ Fanatics Family (aka "all of us"). If nothing else, sounds like you'll do fine listing the CZ24 here.

Whoa, whoa whoa.  Whoa.

Wait just a darn minute here!

...three CZ 52's-one in  9mm, one hard chromed with a comp barrel and custom grips, one stock.

Otto, I think we're going to need to see some pics!

Thanks guys! I'll get the 52's photographed and posted. ACTVLSNR I'll send you a PM.

Keep the info coming about your sales successes (or failures).

I have successfully sold off excess(?) CZ surplus pistols, both on "The Original CZ Forum" and on GunBroker.

Come up with a price with which you will be happy (but you should probably PM me first on the CZ52 9x19mm one - I bet that would bring top dollar on the open market!) and list them here.  If they sell, you and the buyer are both happy -OR- set that price as a minimum bid on GunBroker and see where it ends up at the end of the auction.

With the CZ Forum you might be helping a fellow enthusiast find his grail gun.  With the significantly larger audience on GunBroker you might find out just what the actual value really is out in the CZ collector world.

I recently listed my last CZ52 on GunBroker http://www.gunbroker.com/item/592699349 - it is a very nice pistol and looks good to me, but so far there are no bids on what I thought was a reasonable Starting Bid price.  You just never know.

The pistols you mentioned sound like unusual and exceptional specimens to come on the market for the time in which we currently live.  I for one would like to see some pictures if you can post them, just so I could have something to fall asleep dreaming about when I lay my head on the pillow after a particularly difficult day.

I want that 45, even though I know you may not be selling it. Just sayin. 😉
