Thanks! It felt really good; the match played to my strengths but what got me wasn't how well I did as much as how well I did so quickly! I still really like my Glocks and my G34 is such an awesome pistol but I'm going to have a very hard time not shelving everything in favor of that P09!

I had a 75BD years ago and really regret selling it so my buddy Jeff is to blame getting me back into the hammer-fired world again. He showed up to the range with a CZ85 and an SP01 and 2 months later I bought that SP01! What a gun! that started me off back on the CZ trail again and I already about a long list of CZ's to add to the safe! I've bought 3 more mags for a total of 5, got some Dawson sights and I have some Cajun Gun Works springs on the way. I think a few more mags, another mag carrier or two and then I'll be saving for another CZ soon!

I had a decent match this past weekend. Blew one stage that dropped my standing, but came in 2nd in my division/ classification.  Really do like the the P09.

I recently got a P01 Omega, largely influenced by my P09 experience. Took it to the range today, pleased with it. I am going to send it to CGW for their magic as I wanted a true custom gun & think the CZ P01 platform is a good start.

State match is in 4 weeks- looking forward to seeing how we (P09 & I ) do

Thanks for the sight recommendations. I've been checking out CGW looking for which parts to get so I might have to make an order with sights and other stuff. Right now trying to stock up on P09 mags... I'll be glad when somebody starts making aftermarket mags... $43 each is ouchy!

I swapped out the stock hammer for a CGW and it was a different gun. Unfortunately can't run it in SSP, so it will be my ESP gun. Want to stay in SSP? Install the CZ competition hammer.

Food for thought if you haven't upgraded your hammer. I don't know why I waited 2 years to do it. Probably the single most significant upgrade for my pistol.

Congrats on your 1st place!

I like the P09 so much, I recently got a P01 Omega. While I haven't taken it out to the range yet (next week!) I am pleased with it thus far.

I think a P07 is the next CZ on the list!

Sad to say that my Dawson experience wasn't what I was hoping for. Shot very low with the .170 and after talking to DAwson they kept insisting I needed a .143" front to which I countered due to the point of impact I wanted out of the gun, I would be happy with the .155" but they didn't want to sell me the .155" at half price...and the .143" front was custom and 4 weeks to fabricate....so I just ate $80 and am back with the factory front/rear now...

I went with CZ custom for my FO fiber optic- heard its same as Dawson. Think it was 5.5, but not sure. No issues w/POA

I've added the CJW replacement springs...ie trigger return spring, firing pin, firing pin block and 13# hammer spring...not a bunch difference but it does feel smoother! I've been shooting it exclusively as an ESP gun...mine came with the thumb safety installed so I had to go back years to dive back into my 1911 skill bag to get it to work LOL

Try this. Worked for me from CZ Custom

I live and shoot in Western WA. Been shooting IDPA for about 4 years, SOing for about 3. I'll be working the state match this year, figured I can give some time back to the sport that I enjoy so much.

Nice! Being in Washington do you shoot with the YouTube shooters from The Power Factor Show? I know they are in Washington State but not sure exactly where. I'd love to attend a match up in your area; we are here in Southern Indiana and I've always loved the West/North West scenery.

I'll check that front sight out! thanks man!

Yup- I shot a BUG match that Rick had on his power factor you tube show. Was a fun day yesterday. Shot my s&w m&p 9c. Scored in the top 3rd, 20 out of 60ish.  Wish I had a Rami, but am happy w/ the 9c.

Stages were simple, yet challenging.

If you every make it out here we have a match somewhere in athe area, almost every weekend.

Sounds like  plan! Same here; you ever get out to the Midwest give us a shout here in Southern Indiana. We have 2 local clubs that put them on 1st and 2nd Saturday of every month, 12 months a year! We even have a couple of shooters that maintain a Facebook page, Southern Indiana Competitive Shooting that will have pictures and videos from the local matches.

That is awesome! Really enjoy the PF shows and learn a lot along with taking their advice for making our matches even better.

Sounds like you had a hell of a good time! This Saturday is our other club's match day...not sure if I'm going to run my P09 or my G34...both are my favorite pistols I own and I can hear my 34 calling for me LOL

Be faithful to the CZ shoot the P09- it will know if you fondle something else :-)

Also meant to mention, Duane Thomas - one of the writers for the IDPA periodical and Dillon Blue Press shot on my squad. Fun guy to be with, even though he beat me......

That is awesome! I don't think I've shot with anybody famous before :D

For those interested in the match, a write up was published in the Dillon Blue Press. I was on Duane's squad & took the picture of him shooting from the car
