Nikon P223, fixed 3x, on sale $119, free shipping.

Not a fan of the huge turrets. It's not a sniper scope and it has a BDC reticle so how much adjustment do you need. Also not a fan of the BDC reticle on a flat shooting 223.  I have the 1.5-4 on an AR and the reticle is hard to acquire quickly compared to a simple dot. On the plus side Nikon makes a solid scope and the glass is nice.

For an extra $30 I would get the 2-7; more hunting, less "tactical".

I just put a Weaver 1-3 x 20 on my Henry lever gun.  Very small, very light and rugged enough for magnum calibers according to Weaver.  Reasonably priced.  Bought mine here. In my opinion that is too nice a rifle for a $60 scope.  https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/374644-REG/Weaver_849400_1_3x20_V_3_V_Series_Riflescope.html

Leupold is currently running a $50 rebate on the VX-1 line of scopes. I managed to find one at Primary Arms (the VX-1 HOG) for $194, had SWFA price match it, and will end up paying about $145 after I receive the rebate from Leupold. Hard to argue with a price like that!

I received the scope yesterday, and will admit that the crosshairs are a little thicker than I'd prefer, but I'm assuming the scope is designed for quick shots in brush at less than 200 yards or so, so the thicker lines help you pick the reticle up in thick brush. Either way, it should work out well for anything short of precision target work. For $145, I'm happy. :) Any of the other VX-1 scopes qualify for the rebate as well.

That's a sweet deal. Always been a fan of Leupolds. Have a VX1 3x9 with parallax factory reset to 25 yards on a 452 Trainer  22lr; it's a tack driver.
