I've got 1000 rounds of 45acp sitting and waiting on a 97B.  ;D

You would be better served trading that 1000 for a progressive reloading press, ask me how I know ;)

I think I will shoot my 97B tomorrow after reading this and getting excited all over again.
Musashi:
- In all forms of strategy, it is necessary to maintain the combat stance in everyday life and to make your everyday stance your combat stance. (situational awareness).
- You can only fight the way you practice.
- If you do not control the enemy, the enemy will control you.

As others have said, the aluminum grips are pretty, but the rubber grips are much more ergonomic. Like all CZs, the trigger may seem a bit gritty at first, but will smooth out after 500 rounds or so.

The CZ97's single biggest problem is that it has a soft recoil like most 9mms, and so it will not wear you out on the range. This tends to make it an ammo hog -- again, another typical problem of CZs generally (my SP-01 is particularly bad about this).

As others have said, it may also kill your enthusiasm for 1911s. I used to love 1911s, but now I look at them and say to myself, "Meh, nice WWI relic." My 1911s have now, as others have mentioned, become safe queens.

If the CZ97 has a flaw, I haven't discovered it yet. My continuing wish is that CZ would put out a 10mm version too.

Once again, let me say thank you for all the comments. I'm picking up the pistol on Saturday. I've picked up three extra magazines. Have to wait on the rubber grips though. Rubber grips for the 97 are sold out at a number of sites right now. Too bad as I certainly prefer them on my P-01.

Badger, Try Houge wrap around grips for the 75. Just heat them up a little and they stretch on perfect.
Amazon for about 20.00. They fit my hand perfectly and I keep going back to them. Smecky turned me on to the idea.
