« on: December 27, 2016, 08:33:20 PM »
anyone know if this works with the HBI handguards ? I think they should but wanna make sure before I buy anything. Haven't heard back from either manufacturer "understandably at this time of year"

Nope. They didn't leave room for it.

You'll need to go with a PMM that mounts to the body screws.

bleep, was hoping to use the yeti, I kinda worry about the body bolt replacement PMM version snapping the head off the screw if the sling gets tugged hard or snagged on something.

I wouldn't be too concerned with that. The QD or sling hardware is the likely weak link.

The QD unit dosen't mount with the head of the bolt. The kit comes with longer screws designed for left, right side installs. If your gonna mount it on the left side you would remove bolt then install longest bolt from the right side. Apply thread locker to protruding threads then screw on QD mount.

Ah, ok. I was under the impress that it was held on with the bolt head. I didn't know it was threaded on, that should hold up pretty well then.

For what it's worth... the Manticore hand guard has a built in QD mount... though I like the styling of the HB much better.
