Everyone have this problem?
« on: December 28, 2016, 03:09:14 AM »
I have since day one had 2 large dents in my hammer, a upper and a lower. It appears to be from the big-assed bolt slamming into to it. The upper deformity was starting to mushroom out towards the sides, but I filed the sides down with some diamond file/hones and it seems to be staying as is 700+ rounds later "by as is I mean not denting any deeper" I also slightly chamfered the bolt where it contacts the hammer and polished that now rounded edge up to 2000 grit. "pulling back the charge handle, cycling the hammer is less clunky feeling now"..

I've noticed in a few pics here and there whether it be trigger install pics or whatnot and noticed a few images with similar deformities in their hammers so I'm guessing the latest gen of evo hammers aren't being hardened properly.?.

There's been roughly 1900 rounds down the pipe and it still ticks away like a staple gun no fte , ftl , ftf or any other f-in acronym you can think of  ::)

It's common on alot of the hammers mine has it so does many others so far. I don't believe it effects function. Imagine the beating the a1 puts on them. So far no recall I know of on the hammer.
