IWI Jericho 941 FS .45 Gets no Love eh?
« on: May 10, 2017, 10:33:50 PM »
Picked this up a few months ago just after I got  a Tavor X95, mainly just out of curiosity. Immediately took a liking to it, although that fist DA trigger pull is LOOOOONG especially shooting it right after other DA/SA. It feels great in my hand though and shoot it very accurately once I got used to the trigger. One big knock is that the finish is crappy. I had only taken to the range once, dry fired some and cleaned it, but next time I got it out noticed the finish around the trigger guard was discolored and starting to peel....very disappointing. A LGS was having a special on cerakoting so got it done in ODG. Decided to hold onto it but dang accessories for it are about non-existent. Anybody know a good substitute leather holster for another all steel mid-size gun that is very close to this one?  Anybody make custom replacement grips for it?  I've searched and searched. Thanks!

German surplus holster's work well. I have posted a link to them in the holster sticky. Basically, I haven't had a problem with P226 holsters. I have this one and it works really well. I have a Jericho Repro gun I practice draw and fire drills with. It fits like a glove. It is also a good fit for my SAR B6P, and my TS P100
German Surplus P6. It is a perfect fit for both full and compact CZ types with no mods, and runs about $10.00

That is a beauty!  Learn how to decock with your support thumb to half cock, and the DA GETS MUCH SHORTER.  :)

Beautiful pistol, how's the recoil?  Read a review lately that the Jericho 45 will beat you up a bit.

Thanks man, oh it's not that bad, tell the dude to put on his man-panties and hit the gym! LOL  It's certainly not as much recoil as my plastic XD Mod 2 sub-compact .45. It's a robust little gun, it has made me gravitate more towards all steel compact .45's, I like the weight of it. Just shot a box through it today. Never a problem. Been carrying it for a few days now. Really nice SA pull but pretty long DA if you are trying to milk it slowly to the break. Found the faster I shot the more accurate I shot. Been practicing carrying/drawing/shooting it in condition one anyway so the long DA pull doesn't even come into play.

Thanks for the info, been researching CZ style 45s and there's not many choices.  The Jericho and the Witness are the most common clones.   CZ97 is nice if you can find one.

Yeah I know it! Lots of people migrating away from .45's I guess. And while I have too in most my plastic guns, it'll always be my favorite in steel. I had thought about the 97's, just don't seem to hear much about them. Might have to try one out, I can order direct from CZ. I'm trying to consolidate my inventory of guns again so I can buy a couple higher-ends like custom 1911 and Shadow 2 and may end up selling my Jericho .45 but may want to keep that one...or buy another later as I tend to do the ones I like lol

I have an XD Mod 2 subcompact .45 and I don't think the recoil is that bad for a polymer gun that size. Your Jericho looks really nice with that ODG cerakote. I have two polymer Jericho 9mm handguns and I love them. I have been considering a steel .45. Thanks for the pics and your thoughts on the gun.

Oh no sweat!  Right, well to me the Jericho is even less than that. There is one thing I noticed about it I forgot to mention. When I haven't shot it in a while, at first you kinda get a little bit of a "trigger slap" which reminded me of an AK47 I used to have until I swapped out the trigger.  I only notice it for the first few rounds fired. I may look into either an aftermarket upgraded trigger kit or just getting a trigger job done on it.  It fits in my hand so good. Oh thanks, yeah I got the frame cerakoted because it seems the factory finish was kinda crappy. I'd only made 2-3 range trips with it and finish in and around the trigger job had flaked off in a few places. The finish on the slide is good but not on the frame. I've been thinking about trying the polymer 9's also. You know if they make aftermarket trigger kits for these or know somebody that works on them?  I just wish they made more accessories for it.

If the Disconnector is not able to properly move through its range of motion, the Trigger will slap.

Solution(s):
Inspect Disconnector Surfaces on Trigger Bar Stirrup for excessive wear
Inspect Slide Disconnector Groove for wear/elongation.
Investigate the Springs associated with the Disconnector.
Polish Disconnector surfaces.
Inspect Frame for possible drag or obstruction of Disconnector.

Oh ok good tips thanks!  It's a new gun so hopefully there's no wear but might just be a matter of polishing things up. Thanks!
