To start, I got my SP-01 manual safety last weekend. I took it to the range and shot it. Wow! With my 135 power factor loads the gun shot FLAT!!! But the trigger could use some love. I ordered a production legal trigger kit from Cajun Gun Works. It got here yesterday and the wind is howling today. Perfect time to work indoors. I Brought up several forum posts about disassembly and smoothing the trigger, and set to work. I carefully polished all the parts that were mentioned and installed all of the new CGW parts. What a difference!!!!! I don't have a trigger scale but it is MUCH better than before and nice and smooth. Still waiting on some Dawson Precision sights. I have the 10x bushing and will install it when I do the sights.
Lessons Learned: I spread a towel out across a table in my office, not my shop. Figured it might be easier to find lost parts in my office and its easier to look at the how to posts.
I used small slips of paper to make a label for each piece I removed, made reassembly much easier.
When putting the sear cage back together....Watch the springs! I was glad i was on light colored carpet and had a big magnet. I might buy a couple spares for the future.
If you have moderate tinkering skills and can follow directions this was a really great day project and well worth the effort.
