Is it possible to remove the Magazine Release Spring without...
« on: February 02, 2017, 09:49:42 AM »
On my CZ 75 Tactical Sport, when removing the Magazine Release Spring Retaining Screw, The Trigger Return Spring is a bit long and can get damaged. Is there a good method of removing the magazine spring screw that doesn't involve completely dis-assembling the Trigger?
It all sounded a lot funnier in my head.

I am confused, in the Tac Sport there is only one spring held in place by the Mag Catch Spring Screw. The trigger return spring/trigger bar spring is located at the trigger. How would the trigger return spring be damaged when removing the mag catch spring screw? Maybe i am missing something?

Edit: Now i see, let me try something. Edit2: This turned out to be an interesting question OP, sorry i jumped the gun initially. If you grab the TS frame with the muzzle pointed away from you. Looking down into the frame at the TRS you can grab the protruding leg of the trigger return spring with a pair of needle nose pliers and move it down and to the right, this will dislodge it from under the trigger bar and give you the clearance necessary to get the mag catch spring screw out. When you are done you can push down and swing the TRS leg to the left back into its notch under the trigger bar. Take a close look at it with a flashlight and you should see what i am talking about.

You may already be aware but just in case. It is a good idea to degrease the hole for the mag catch spring screw and then use some lock tight when replacing the screw. You also have the option or restaking the screw. Otherwise it may move on you down the line.

Thanks for the time and info.

I'll have to head off to harbor freight to find some long small tweezers and pliers
