550 mag HET .338 Lapua
« on: April 17, 2024, 07:04:18 PM »
Figured this would be the forum to ask on.  Looking to pick up a 550 mag HET .338 Lapua off of a friend.  It is the first generation not the HET II.  Trying to find a ball park number on a decent price point.  Rifle is in great shape, just cannot find any comparables on the web.   Also any reviews from anyone with experience with that model would be appreciated.  Thank you for entertaining my first post on the forum from the Pacific Northwest.

I’m sure it’s a nice gun but is it what you want or suit your needs in competition? Unless it is setup just like you want with the stock and trigger finding aftermarket gear might be an issue. I don’t really know because I’ve never researched the gun but it’s certainly something to consider besides price. For “value” I’d compare it to similar rifles in that category just like a home buyer. A different gun at the same price point might offer a lot of aftermarket product support. The other big factor is use. Find out how many rounds, ask to see targets to at least 100 yards.

Thanks for the welcome, yes those are all things I have considered it is a trade with a friend for a rifle I’ve had my fun with.  Basically checking that neither of us is getting the shaft in the deal.  Or if one of us should add on some components, etc.  I’ll be handling and shooting it next Friday was just looking for a rough estimate.  I’ve shot a few CZs but never owned one.
