The standard pressure is an older lot with the longer skives. The +P is a newer lot. Velocity advantage is still there, but looks like those shorter skives are there to limit expansion and maintain penetration:

It appears we're getting an incredible selection of bullets and ammo these days.
I recently loaded the Berry's Hybrid Hollow point self defense bullet in my 9mm. The 124 gr bullet going over the chrony at 1100 fps produced a .9" flower in wet phone books. It looked very similar to the HST.
