Yes, it sounds like S&W nailed it.  Initial reports are extremely positive and I'm definitely going to be checking it out.  The Kahrs are just too darn expensive for me right now.  If the Shield comes in under $400 actual street price it will be hard for me not to get one.  I'd still like to see a CZ single stack, but if it works it works and I don't really care who makes it.

That's pretty much where I am at too, unless Glock follows on their heals which I sense might happen next. I heard the Shield is "good stuff" great trigger to boot.

If CZ put one together I would get it tomorrow.

I would definitely be interested in a single stacked RAMI.  I love everything about it except the thickness.  The Kahrs are so expensive.  I just bought a new Kahr CM9 for under $400 online.  It is just a little smaller than the RAMI but is much thinner and weighs much less.  It is essentially a PM9 with different rifling. It is very concealable and affords me enough protection with 6+1 single stacked 9mm.  CZ needs do a "me too".

I would think a Single Stack Rami in both 9MM and 40 would take the market being SA/DA. I have both a Ruger LC9 and a S&W Shield in .40 and I just don't like the DA only trigger on a short barreled gun.

The Rami gave me the greatest option and safety having a DA pull and safety...If I pull the trigger once there most likely was a need for a couple follow up shots.

Single Stack Rami with a mag comparable to say a Shield say 8 in 9MM and 7 in .40 with an extended mag as a second mag.

Single stack would make for a lot more grip surface rather than the 2 finger grip and no mag tang.

I just bought a Colt .45ACP New Agent and it fits in an LC9 DeSantis holster.

I think CZ would have a huge jump on market share being an alloy frame/steel slide DA/SA.

Just my thinking.

If I were in the market for a single stack CCW from CZ-USA I would buy the Dan Wesson ECO. Available in 9mm and .45 ACP.

Agreed.  Either a DW ECO or a Springfield EMP.

But the DW and SA EMP are more than twice what I paid for my Rami and are SA only pistols.

I have A colt New Agent that is the same slide length but about .75 inches longer in the grip area and narrower than the DS Rami.

The Colt is going to the shop for a NM trigger, standard size safety and beaver tail grip safety next week.

Honestly there wouldn't be much of a point unless the slide width was slimed down a good bit. Even then,  i like the rami because the grip is comfortable and its still concealable as soon as you slim it down it wouldn't fit my hand as well.

Absolutely.   I would buy three.  Single stack Rami BD in 9mm.  Narrow the frame as much as possible, keep the aluminum frame, and CZ would sell millions of them.

Didn't know this thread existed, its a bit dated, but I've commented this exact same thing on a few current threads this month, a slimmed down subcompact in 9mm would be a winner!

As a pocket carry alternative, YES... can an Al frame, single stack RAMI weigh in at under 20 oz unloaded?   ... then YES.  I'd carry it DA mode in a pocket holster, so safety or decocker is fine.  I don't need the tritium sights so save me the hundred bucks, please.
