TS Polymer trigger in SP01 Shadow frame
« on: April 03, 2017, 11:08:52 AM »
I like the shape and feel of the TS polymer trigger, and I have one in spare. I would like to know if it is strong enough for a 3 lb SA trigger pull weight?
Most TS triggers are under 2 lb, usually around 1.75 lbs, and some even lower. So, would it endure?

It will endure. The engineers have to design it to take the force of people pulling the trigger, not just to the limit of the hammer breaking from the sear. People who aren't used to a Tactical Sport trigger pull - when they initially start shooting one - probably pull much hard than the required 2 lbs and would be breaking triggers in their initial learning curves. Plus, I've heard of people increasing trigger pull weight on the Tactical Sport. So, unless triggers breaking that is a problem I haven't heard of you will be fine.

I up'd the trigger pull on my TS Orange to ~2.75 lbs.  It seems fine?  I don't have that much trigger time though.  As Scarlett said, I can't imagine that it is anywhere near the yield/ultimate strength of the polymer trigger.  It seems to flex a little if you pull it hard but no signs of deformation.

Cheers,
Toby

How did you do that?

Here is my thread about increasing the TSO trigger pull.  I am happy with it currently.

That is good info.
I used a double sear approach in my TS. Net gain was 1 lb exact, when measured at the bottom part of trigger. We needed the trigger to be over 2 lb 4 oz as weight requirement in bulls eye matches, and it fit the bill oerfectly after the modification.  3 lb in the mid part where it is measured in matches.
