Rear Sight direction - sitting here waiting for answer
« on: March 04, 2017, 07:12:26 PM »
Hey Guys, I have my PCR stripped down and I'm replacing the sights.  Right now I'm trying to push out the rear sights.  I'm going from left to right (towards the ejector port), and this SOB does not want to budge.  Everything I've read says left to right.  Am I just being a little too careful?  I've replaced other sights before, but none was like this.

I just need to confirm direction.

As far as I know, you are correct, it's left to right

I always remove rear sight right to left and install new ones left to right. LPA adjustable rear sight is tapered in this direction. On fixed sights you sometimes can see scratches from factory left to right installation.

^^^^^ this is my understanding as well. Right to left for out, left to right for in, just like most of the pins. I think some sights don't matter as they aren't tapered. I just like keep everything the same.
What are you using to remove? Don't own a PCR, but on my pistols the factory sight is staked in. Takes a pretty good wack with a hammer and brass punch to get it started. Then you can tap out or use a pusher.

Yeah, I've replaced the sights on several CZ Compacts and a couple of full sized models and the rear sight moved out from right to left.  It installed from left to right.  This is with you facing the rear of the slide.

Home you haven't damaged the dovetail in the slide.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?
